Placentia-Linda Hospital Receives Prestigious Circle of Excellence and American Heart Association Awards

PLACENTIA, Calif. – April 19, 2007
– Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) announced today that Placentia-Linda Hospital has been selected to the company’s 2007 Circle of Excellence.  This is the second year in a row and third time in four years Placentia-Linda has earned this award.

The Circle of Excellence honors those Tenet hospitals that have performed at the highest levels in the past year in the areas of quality, service and overall performance.  Key factors involved in the process include patient, physician and employee satisfaction scores and clinical quality scores.

“The hard work and dedication of the employees, physicians and volunteers at Placentia-Linda Hospital made 2006 a great year for the hospital,” said Stephen Newman, M.D., Tenet’s chief operating officer.  “I’m proud of all that they accomplished and am thrilled to honor them with Tenet’s Circle of Excellence Award.”

Dr. Newman also praised the hospital executive team, led by chief executive officer Kent Clayton; chief financial officer Kristi Liberatore; chief operating officer Pat Swaller; chief nursing officer Pat Scott; director of business development Mary Ann Railey; and director of human resources Diane McCluskey, for their hard work and leadership in the past year.  “Health care is a business that requires dedication, passion and strong leadership skills to achieve positive results.  The executive team at Placentia-Linda Hospital performed incredibly well in 2006, and I congratulate them on their successes.”

In the past week, Placentia-Linda Hospital was also recognized with an award by the American Heart Association’s Get With The GuidelinesSM (GWTG) program for implementing and ensuring patients consistently receive quality cardiac care for congestive heart failure.  Placentia-Linda will be recognized in an ad published by US News & World Report this July.
