Placentia-Linda Hospital is pleased to offer a FREE Just the Facts Five-Week Tobacco Cessation Series
Offering this program is one of the key components of Placentia-Linda Hospital's Commitment to Quality initiative. Under the Get With The Guidelines program, patients are started on aggressive risk-reduction therapies such as cholesterol-lowering drugs, aspirin, ACE inhibitors and beta-blockers in the hospital and receive smoking cessation and weight management counseling and referrals for cardiac rehabilitation before they are discharged.

The Smoking Cessation Support Group features a structured, counselor-led group in which tobacco users attempting to quit find encouragement, understanding and tobacco cessation education through a group sharing process.* Topics covered include: Nicotine addiction and weight control Coping with urges to smoke Developing a support system Relaxation Techniques Forming skills to help you stay smoke-free and prevent relapse *This service is available for adults only.

Participants in the class will receive at no charge: Survival Kit Workbook Counseling
This program if funded by the Tobacco Free Communities Grant and made possible by the Orange County Health Care Agency through funds received from the National Tobacco Settlement. Wayna Cariaga, Tobacco Cessation Coordinator, will present this series.
