Your Guest Room
Your room is nicely decorated and includes a bedside stand for your belongings, a bathroom, a television and a white board, which summarizes your daily plan of care and provides your doctor and nurse’s names. Private rooms may be available.

Your Bed
With a staff of skilled professionals, our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible during your stay with us. The electronically controlled bed enables you to raise or lower your head and/or feet for individual comfort.

Room Temperature
Each room in the hospital is centrally heated and air-conditioned.  If your room temperature is not comfortable, please let us know right away.  We can also bring you warming blankets.

Need Something?
If you need something immediately, all patient rooms are equipped with a call system. The hand-held device is free moving and is located on the bed. For your safety, an emergency call system is also located in each bathroom, should you require assistance. Upon admission, our friendly staff is happy to provide you and your family with instructions on how to use this system.

Newspaper Service
A complimentary copy of The Orange County Register newspaper will be delivered to your room daily during your stay with us.

Need to Make a Telephone Call?
While inside the hospital, you may reach an internal extension by dialing the four-digit extension. For local telephone calls, dial 9 then the number. Local calls within a 10-mile radius are free. Long distance numbers will require a calling card. Calling cards may be purchased in our hospital gift shop. We are unable to charge phone calls to your room. If you have trouble dialing a local number or to make a long distance call using your calling card, dial “0” and ask the operator for assistance. Patients may call outside the hospital at any time. However, for your comfort, we only put calls through to your room between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily.

Pay telephones are located at the Main Lobby, across from the Gift Shop.

Fresh Rose at Your Bedside
Upon admission, a Hospital Guild volunteer member will deliver a complimentary fresh rose for your bedside.

TV Channels
Each guest room is equipped with a television and cable service. For the rest and welfare of our patients, we ask that you please keep the volume low. If you are visiting a patient who is sharing a room with another patient, we may request that the television be turned off to allow for sleep.

Mail
Mail is delivered to each unit Monday through Friday. Mail arriving after a guest has been discharged will be forwarded to their home address.

Chaplain Services
A non-denominational Chaplain is available to visit you during your stay. If you wish, the Chaplain can arrange for a minister, priest, rabbi or spiritual counselor of your choice to visit with you. Your nurse will contact the Chaplain for you. For your comfort, a meditation room is located off the main hallway of the hospital.

Meditation Room
The Meditation Room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The meditation room is located off the main hallway of the hospital.

Your Personal Belongings
As we cannot accept responsibility for valuables left in your room, we strongly recommend you give any extra cash, credit cards, wallet, jewelry, etc. to a family member or friend to take home. You may also ask your nurse to put your valuables in the hospital safe. We will provide you with an itemized receipt for your records.

Your Dentures, Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids
Dentures, eyeglasses and hearing aids are an important part of your life and these items require special care. Please let your nurse know that you use these. Please be careful not to leave any of these items on your meal tray or lying in your bed as they could accidentally get lost or disposed of.

Your Medications
Please be sure to let your nurse know of any medications you are taking, including dosage(s) and times. Your nurse will review these with your physician, who will determine which medication(s) you should continue to take during your stay with us.
