Delineation of Medical Staff Privileges Being Requested
Privileges are granted on an individual basis in accordance with the applicant’s documentation of training, experience and current clinical competence. The practitioner is obligated to obtain appropriate specialty or subspecialty consultation when the diagnosis is complicated and beyond the scope of the practitioner’s specialty after ordinary diagnostic procedures have been completed; when there is serious doubt as to the choice of therapeutic measures to be utilized; when specific skills of other practitioners are needed; or when the patient’s situation is unusually complicated.
Privileges may only be performed where there are adequate facilities, equipment, number and type of qualified support personnel and resources. (*R = Requested; A = Approved, D = Denied)
