Placentia-Linda's 40 Years of History
PL is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2012! Check back for details...
Since opening in 1972, Placentia-Linda Hospital has far exceeded its goal of bringing the personal touch to patient care. A guest, when entering the Hospital, is generally apprehensive about facing an unknown situation with new people and new procedures. It is our task to help you feel at ease and for you and your loved ones to be as comfortable as possible.
Our feeling of pride in Placentia-Linda Hospital has been extended to all those who have entered our doors -- PL people are truly special. Our personal approach which has been a part of our culture for 38 years, in part, accountable for our success as being an outstanding community hospital.
Our History:
- Placentia-Linda Hospital's Dedication Ceremony was on Sunday, September 24, 1972
Placentia-LInda Hospital accepted first patients on Thursday, September 27, 1972
- Placentia-Linda Hospital was started, owned and operated by local physicians who had deep experience of serving members of the local community. The thought behind being owned and operated by physicians is that no one serving the community, is in a position to perceive and communicate your needs better than your physician. From the start, we assure you that this will be a patient-oriented hospital. The team will always be respnsive to the needs of the patient first. Thirty six years later, we are still founded on service and dedication to the community -- our mission "Quality healthcare with a personal touch."

In the late 1950s, Yorba Linda was made up of less than 2,000 people. In the early 1960s, the space industry boomed and brought industry and people to this area. It was a very creative and exciting time in healthcare.
